Nowadays the “Spigolatrici” are present in Italy, Switzerland, Malta, Poland, India, Brazil and Argentina. Members of the Institute live in Italy (Veneto, Lombardy, Friuli, Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, Lazio, Umbria, Campania, Puglia), Switzerland, Malta, Poland, India, Brazil. We become members of the Institute as soon as we take the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience which we renew every year. Prior to taking the vows we undergo three years of formation during which we are called aspirants. We have a “rule of life” based on our Constitutions (Our Book of Life) and another book which outlines its application. This rule has been approved by the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life. We are organized in communities and in zones on the basis of country and language. Each Zone has a Head and a Council and the whole Institute is governed by a Central Head and Council who are elected every five years during an Assembly of the Institute.
Our way of life
Each one of us finds work according to one’s talents, qualifications and the circumstances in which she finds herself. Our Institute offers different forms of living: some live with their families or alone, while others live in small fraternal groups The Institute has no specific work of its own, but it does its best to help its members to live and grow as Christians and because they are “consecrated Christians” each one of them has her own specific sphere of activity.
